Information We Collect
Account Information
If you choose to sign in with Google or Apple, we receive the account identifier and basic profile details needed to authenticate your account and link optional cloud backup features.
Personal Preferences
We store your app settings, prayer calculation method, Quran reading preferences, dhikr tracking data, and notification preferences locally on your device. If you enable sign-in and cloud sync, selected preferences and progress data are also stored securely in your cloud backup.
Location Data
With your permission, we access your location to provide accurate prayer times based on your geographical position. This data is processed locally and not stored on external servers.
Usage Analytics
We may collect anonymized usage data to improve app performance, understand feature usage, and fix bugs. This data cannot identify you personally.

Notifications & Reminders
Mawa sends local notifications for prayer times, dhikr reminders, and spiritual prompts. These notifications are generated on your device and do not involve data transmission to external servers.
You can customize or disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
Analytics & Diagnostics
We may use third-party analytics services to collect anonymized data about app usage, crashes, and performance issues. This helps us identify bugs and improve the app.
No personally identifiable information is shared with these services.
This website uses Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits without cookies and without tracking you across sites. Messages sent through the website contact form are emailed to us and kept only as long as needed to answer you. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam.
Location Data
Location access is requested solely to calculate accurate prayer times for your area. Your location is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or third parties.
You can deny location access and manually set your city instead.
Quran, Dhikr & Prayer Preferences
Your Quran reading history, bookmarks, dhikr counters, reminder configuration, and prayer preferences are stored locally on your device by default. If you choose to sign in and use cloud sync, supported settings and progress data are uploaded to your account-backed cloud storage so you can sync or restore them later.
Downloaded recitations and downloaded translations are not included in cloud sync. You retain control over synced data through the app settings and your signed-in account.

Mawa uses trusted third-party providers for Islamic content, account features, analytics, and diagnostics:
These services may have their own privacy policies. Firebase services are used to authenticate optional accounts, store optional cloud backups, and collect anonymized analytics and crash telemetry when those controls are enabled.
Data Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you clear it from the app settings or uninstall the app, subject to any device-level backup settings you control.
If you use optional cloud sync, your supported backup data remains associated with your signed-in account until it is replaced by a newer backup or you ask us to delete it (see how to delete your account).
Anonymized analytics and crash data may be retained for a limited period by our service providers to help improve app stability and performance.
Your Rights & Choices
Access: View all data stored by the app in Settings
Delete: Clear all app data from Settings or uninstall the app. To delete your account and its cloud backup, follow these steps.
Opt-out: Disable notifications, location access, or analytics
Control: Manage permissions through device settings
Account: Sign out to disconnect optional account features and stop future sync from that device
